Level 3 - Chinese
Course Description
This course continues on from NCEA Level 2 and builds on the skills acquired at junior and senior level.
The range of grammar and vocabulary significantly increases in its complexity, which allows students to develop a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.
NCEA Level 3 Chinese is made up of Levels 7 and 8 of the New Zealand curriculum. The topics covered include:
- Food, health and fitness
- Life in other countries
- Occupations
- Travel and tourism
- University life
- People, places and customs
Pre-requisites
Students should have completed NCEA Level 2 Chinese, or the equivalent.

$30 - workbook
$10 (approximately) - cultural activities
Pathway
Students who successfully complete this course may enter into a number of different fields in New Zealand or abroad such as: international business, interpreting, translating, diplomacy, tourism, or language teaching.
Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
