Level 2 - Food
Course Description
This course is designed to explore the future of food through nutritional issues including sustainability, the impacts of food choices and analysis of beliefs and relationships to food. This learning is complemented by practical cooking skills at an individual level.
Food and nutrition complements the hospitality course and is a University Entrance aproved course.
Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites for this course.
Notice of risk - students of technology courses should be compliant with all health and safety guidelines to protect themselves and others. Students failing to do so could be removed from the course.
Course Specific Costs
$60 per term (approximately). These are estimated on the current food prices and may fluctuate. Assessment workbooks will be charged to the student's account.
Pathway
The food industry is traditionally one of the largest employers in the world. This course offers a pathway into health Services, dietetics, sports nutrition and community and social services as well as developing personal cooking skills.
Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
This course is approved for University Entrance.
