Level 2 - Mathematics - Calculus
Course Description
This course is recommended for students who wish to study calculus at Level 3.
This course seeks to enable students to:
- Develop a sound understanding of concepts and strategies for solving problems involving algebraic, trigonometric and calculus techniques
- Think abstractly, creatively, critically, strategically and logically
- Enhance the mathematical tools, skills, understanding, and attitudes required in future careers
- Enjoy intellectual challenge and a confidence that leads to further inquiry
Pre-requisites
Entry is at the discretion of the Head of Faculty. Students choosing this course will be expected to have a competent performance across the mathematics curriculum strands, including a minimum of Securely at the expected level grades for both linear algebra and non-linear algebra in the 11MAT/11MAX/10MAE courses.

Pathway
Year 11 students studying 12MAC also have the option to enter International Baccalaureate mathematics as a future pathway.
Further study and careers in mathematics are in many sectors, such as commerce, science, engineering, medicine, architecture, government departments, information management, quality improvement, and insurance.
Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
