Year 7 - Religious Education (Core)

Course Description

This course introduces students to the foundational beliefs of Christianity, helping them explore key theological concepts and their significance. Students begin by examining the Christian foundations of St. Peter’s, considering broad questions about religion, faith, and the history of Christianity in their school community. They then focus on the person of Jesus, exploring His life, death, and resurrection, as well as the Old Testament prophecies pointing to Him as the Saviour.

Following this, students will delve into the Bible, learning why Christians regard it as the authoritative word of God and how to read it meaningfully. The course concludes with an exploration of Christian heroes of the faith, looking at real-world examples of individuals who have put their faith into action to make a difference in the world. Through engaging discussions, Bible study, and interactive assessments, students will develop a deeper understanding of Christianity and its impact on history and society.
