Year 9 - Science (Core)
Course Description
Year 9 science covers the five strands of science: biology, chemistry, physics, earth and space science, and the nature of science. The course aims to develop a knowledge of the basic facts, principles and theories of science. Opportunities exist to learn about and apply the scientific method, which is the basis of all problem solving.

Science students are encouraged to recognise the importance of science in society and to develop a continuing interest in science. In the Year 9 science course, students will investigate and learn to think critically about some of the most pressing issues in science and our world.
This is a full-year course and takes up 2 option lines.
