Year 8 - Social Studies (Core)
Course Description
Year 8 social studies focuses on understanding how communities function and their impact on the natural environment. Students will explore how different communities are structured, the rights people in communities may of may not have and how human activities such as urbanization, tourism, and industry affect the environment. The course will emphasize the balance between community development and environmental sustainability, encouraging students to think critically about the relationship between society and nature.
Course Specific Costs
Approximately $160 for a trip to Taupo - tourism unit of work.
