Level 2 - Japanese
Course Description
Year 12 (Level 2) Japanese is made up of Levels 6 and 7 of the New Zealand curriculum.
The three topics to be studied are:
- Exchange students and school life
- Family life and celebrations, including housing and eating and drinking
- Leisure and fitness
The range of grammar and vocabulary increases in its complexity, allowing not only for more in-depth and sophisticated communication, but also for increased learner independence.
There are approximately 100 more kanji to be studied.
Pre-requisites
Students should have completed Year 11 Japanese or the equivalent.

Assessment Information
In addition to regular topic tests monitoring proficiency in kanji, vocabulary and grammar structures, students sit examinations to prepare for the end-of-year, externally assessed NCEA Achievement Standards examination.Credit Information
