Level 2 - Health Studies
Course Description
The aims of the course are:
- To develop students’ understanding of factors that influence the wellbeing of individuals, groups and wider society
- To improve students’ critical thinking skills by unpacking various issues and perspectives
- To develop personal growth by learning about health enhancing decisions, how to communicate effectively and make meaningful contributions to the wellbeing of communities
Students will study topics such as:
- Managing their own wellbeing and supporting the wellbeing of others
- Analysing, evaluating and taking action
- Thinking critically and challenging societal norms
- Managing change and loss
- Strengthening personal identity and self worth
Pre-requisites
Students must be interested in health and wellbeing.
Course Specific Costs
$75 - course related costs- guest speakers and health promotion.
Pathway
Senior health provides the foundation for pathways to the social and health sciences, such as nursing, teaching, counsellor and psychologist.
Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
